registration of independent counsellors For many practicing counsellors the simplest and most versatile form of registration remains the Independent route. Why consider becoming a Registered Independent Counsellor? UKRC is helping to develop the future of counselling in this country in a way that benefits both clients and counsellors. By meeting the growing public need for security, accountability and professionalism, the Register sets clear standards for counselling today. It enables counsellors to demonstrate to both existing and future clients that they belong to an organisation that demands the very highest standards from its practitioners. It makes it easier for clients to identify counsellors with a familiar 'hallmark'. Joining the register shows a commitment to professional standards. More than that, registration demonstrates recognition that the interests of clients are paramount.
Joining the register demonstrates a clear commitment to the advancement of the counselling profession. Registered Independent Counsellors are eligable to advertise under the UKRC corporate advertising scheme with Yell (Yellow Pages). This offers excellent value in the form of a featured advertisement under the UKRC banner for standard single line entry rates. How do I become registered? Below is the form currently issued to all accredited members of BACP, COSCA and eligible counsellors of FDAP and UKAHPP. Please feel free to download this and return it (signed, dated and accompanied by your initial remittance of £30*) to: United Kingdom Register of Counsellors, BACP House, Unit 15 St John's Business
Park, Lutterworth, Leicestershire, LE17 4HB Please note that as from 1 April 2006 the annual registration fee will be increased from £28 to £30.
